Doushin translates to the pure heart of a child, a beautiful name for this equally beautiful kokeshi, a traditional Japanese wooden doll. This kokeshi designed by artist Shoei Fujikawa won the Prime Minister’s Award for kokeshi design in Japan. She is lathe-turned and hand-painted, and comes with a small wooden sign displaying the artist’s name and title of the piece.
