It is a 2 hour class – 1st hour is about sushi. Chef Hiro Asano demonstrates and teaches the art and history of sushi making. You will learn 4 different rolls and the styles of sushi offered at traditional Japanese restaurants around the world. (hand roll, California roll, classic roll, chef special roll). Chef Hiro has some flexibility should our guests have dietary restrictions the rolls can be accommodated for that.
In the second hour the class eats what they have made, and we have a sake tasting class. Carrie Becker, who has taught our Sake tasting classes in the past is back discussing 4 sakes (Junmai, Junmai Gingo, Junmai Digingo, and Echigo), how they are made, and flavor profiles. You will learn the art of pairing a sake to the meal you created in the first hour and enjoy both as Carrie guides you through the notes of Sake. Both parts of the class are fun, exciting, and interactive. With these amazing teachers, everyone will leave with a wealth of knowledge as well as full stomachs!
