Artist: Donald T. Yoshino, FAIA
Don graduated from California State Polytechnic University, then studied abroad in Kyoto, Japan. After his return to the US, he apprenticed with the world-renowned visionary architect Paolo Soleri at Arcosanti. He opened his architectural office in Boca Raton in 1991 and is a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects. He is actively involved with The Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens. In 2017, Don received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays conferred by the Foreign Ministry of Japan. Inspired by his love of art and the Japanese minimalist Zen philosophy he has studied and now utilizes the ancient technique of sumi-e art form for his art. All of Don’s originals are stamped with his Nama in “shuniki”.
