Guest Artist Workshop: Introduction to Kumihimo

This introductory Kummihimo workshop invites participants to explore a traditional Japanese braiding technique rooted in centuries of craftmanship. Using a braiding disk, participants will learn to create a round Kumihimo cord while gaining insight into the cultural significance of this practice. Each participant may choose to create a keychain, bracelet, or phone strap. The workshop offers a hands-on experience that bridges cultural heritage and contemporary making, allowing participants to engage with artisanal tradition and leave with a unique handmade piece.
