Enjoy a variety of fun craft activities. Make your own yōkai mask for based on spirits and creatures from Japanese folklore and much more!

  • Mori Stories: Kamishibai Folktales Activities

” The Old Man and the Fox”
Time: 11:00am
Cost: FREE (with paid museum admission)
Location: Kamiya Room
A humorous tale about an old man who decides to play a trick on a sleeping fox; instead, he ends up learning a lesson himself.

” The Three Magic Charms”

Location: Kamiya Room
A young boy uses three paper charms to outwit a wicked Yamanba (yah-man-bah) or Mountain Woman.

  • Yōkai Scavenger Hunt

Time: 10:00am-4:00pm
Cost: FREE (with paid museum admission)
Location: Morikami Gardens
Search for the different yōkai in our garden and gather all their names for a prize!

  • Film Screening – Spirited Away

Time: 11:00am (English Dubbed) | 2:00pm (In Japanese, subtitled in English)
