Ceramic Dancing Hotei

Hotei is one of Japan’s seven lucky gods. His jolly nature, humorous personality, and eccentric lifestyle distinguish him from most Buddhist masters or figures. He is almost always shown smiling or laughing, hence his nickname is the “Laughing Buddha.” He is the god of abundance, wisdom, contentment, and happiness. He is found with a happy smile, elongated earlobes for wisdom, and a large round belly that symbolizes happiness, good luck, and generosity.
