The Basics of Japanese Archery

 

The beginners Kyudo workshop will provide an introduction to the equipment used for Kyudo practice as well as the training attire. Those attending will receive instruction in the 8 basic stages required for the correct shooting of a bow. This includes posture, form, and shooting stance. Please note that participants will not be shooting an actual bow and arrow in this workshop, but will be using a Kyudo rubber bow as a beginner.

Meet Your Instructor

Founded in 2020, the South Florida Kyudo Kai is a 501(c)3 non-profit Educational organization dedicated to promoting and teaching the art of Japanese Archery (Kyudo) in South Florida. Jade Fraundorfer currently holds the rank of 5th Dan under the International Kyudo Federation (IKYF). He serves as the chief instructor for the South Florida Kyudo Kai, President of the Kyudo Renmei of Florida, Vice President of the American Kyudo Renmei and student of the Ogasawara Ryu American Branch.
