Biwa Pearl Post Earrings
$85.00
In 1914, Japanese pearl farmers began culturing freshwater pearls using mussels native to Lake Biwa. This lake, the largest in Japan, lies near the city of Kyoto. This resulted in the name Biwa pearl and at one time, it was nearly synonymous with freshwater pearls. Post earrings measure approximately 1 1/8″ long. Set in .950 fine sterling silver, designed by Charles Albert.
Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of the biwa pearl, the color and shape pattern may vary slightly from the image shown.
All Charles Albert pieces are Signed/Hallmarked.
