Volunteer at Tea Day Tea Day Volunteer Application Celebrating Tea, which has a rich culture and history in Japan, especially, our beloved, matcha (powdered green tea) associated with traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. The event will be filled with tea-inspired activities for the whole family. Volunteers will be assisting with all activities and interacting with participants to ensure a fun day for all! Activities will include: • Tea tasting and displays by tea vendors • Lectures with guest speakers; wellness journalist, Iron Chef Judge, best-selling author and leading clean eating chef, Candice Kumai, who will also be doing a book signing, takes us through the fascinating history of matcha and its various uses from the past to the present, and discover Japanese Green Teas with ITO EN’s Rona Tison to experience the expansive world of Japanese teas and its intrinsic taste profiles and complexities • Tea demonstrations in the tea house • “Magic Tea Kettle” Kamishibai, Japanese folktale told in the traditional storytelling format • Kids create their own creature tea kettle by using the Japanese technique of torn paper crafting called chigirie!
