The Annual Fund at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens provides a vital source of unrestricted income to support every facet of museum activity, from our educational program, onsite and at schools, to maintaining and expanding the museum’s collection, to presenting diverse and thought-provoking exhibitions and lecture programs of the highest quality. When you make a gift of any size you are joining the ever-expanding family of Morikami supporters that provides invaluable support for promoting understanding of Japanese culture and for the conservation, protection and presentation of Japanese art. While gifts to the Annual Fund allow The Morikami to direct the funds where they are needed most, we recognize that you may have a special passion and we offer you an opportunity to direct your gift to one of the following programs:
- Education. Our educational programs teach not only about the history, art and lifestyle of Japan, they highlight the contributions and heritage of early immigrants to South Florida, and encourage children to seek similarities, as opposed to differences, in all foreign cultures.
- Exhibitions. as the only Museum in the nation devoted specifically to the art and humanities of Japan, we strive to present innovative exhibits that further understanding and appreciation of all aspects of Japanese art and culture.
- Acquisitions. The Morikami’s Collections Committee is seeking additional funding to supplement our permanent collection of over 5,000 examples of Japanese fine art, crafts and objects of daily life.
- Conservation. Specialists from around the nation help us conserve and repair our valued collection. You support of this crucial work will ensure our artifacts receive the care and attention they need.
