Students are encouraged to take an active role in learning to go beyond merely replicating what is taught. Saturday Family Fun Programs explore the everyday culture of Japan through activities in origami, fish printing, miniature gardens and more. Experienced instructors teach classes in the art of bonsai, ikebana flower arrangement, nature photography, Japanese language and more. Occasional workshops, gallery talks, lectures, discussions, videos, films and guest speakers from academic, art and international business circles cover exhibit-related and general interest topics relating to Japan.
