Hatsume Fair
Date: March 21 - 22, 2009 Time: 11:00 am - 6:00 pm
Celebrating the first bud of spring, The Morikami’s largest annual event, Hatsume, transforms the normally tranquil Morikami Park into a unique Japanese spring festival. In it's 30th year, Hatsume Fair features three stages of continuous entertainment including taiko drumming, Japanese tea ceremony, martial art demonstrations, children’s activities, and "All Things Japanese 101" presentations such as Language 101, Taiko 101 & Anime 101! Also included are avenues of artisan booths, plant sales, anime dealers & programming, Asian and American food vendors & The Kirin Beer Garden!

Hatsume becomes ANIME-friendly!
New to 2009 – Hatsume Fair jumps into 21st Century Japan with the addition of anime! In addition to Hatsume’s already popular events, guests can experience everything animation including anime screenings, All Things Japanese 101 presentations, cosplay contests and an artist alley! More activities to be announced SOON! The day's activities include:
l Anime Screenings: The Story of Saiunkoku, Fruits Basket, TSUBASA - RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, Mushi-Shi, Shonen Onmyouji, Ah My Goddess TV, AIR Movie, Elemental Glade, Kanon, D.Gray-man, Samurai 7, MoonPhase, Ouran High School Host Club and The Wallflower.
l Meet Robert Axelrod (Lord Zed of the Power Rangers), Hello Kitty & Naruto
l "All Things Japanese 101" presentations:
m Taiko 101 (by Fushu Daiko & Ronin Taiko)

Hatsume features threestages with continuous all day entertainment. Please click here for the most up-to-date entertainment schedule.
1-day Admission
$10 for adults (ages 18+)
$5 for children (ages 4-17)
FREE for museum members and children 3 and under
All tickets are purchased at the gate - only group tickets are sold in advance.
Advance tickets available for a discounted price (groups consist of 10 or more people).

Food & Beverage
The Morikami's Cornell Cafe will be open and serving from an a la carte menu. Outside vendors will also be providing Asian and American food on the festival grounds. For a complete menu, please click here.
No ATM on-site
When planning your trip to Hatsume Fair, please note that there are no ATM's in the park.
Wheelchair Accessibility
There are a numbered amount of wheelchairs on-site and will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis.

Please note that food vendors should not apply for participation in Hatsume as Japanese and American cuisine is provided through an exclusive arrangement with San Francisco Puffs & Stuffs of Ft. Lauderdale.
