From A Quiet Place: The Paper Sculptures of Kyoko Hazama

June 3, 2014 – August 31, 2014

While most of us are familiar with handmade Japanese paper, or washi (incorrectly called rice paper), and the fascinating art of paper folding known as origami, few have experienced Kyoko Hazama’s magnificent paper sculptures: delicate, intricately detailed and highly personal paper sculptures that she describes as “symbolic self-portraits.” The exhibition was organized by Mobilia Gallery, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
