Sushi & Stroll Summer Walks


2017 Sushi & Stroll Summer Walks Presented by JM Lexus

We welcome guests on select Friday evenings (from 5:30-8:30pm) throughout the summer to experience and explore our Japanese gardens, cold drink in hand. Sip craft sake selections – some sweet, sparkling or creamy – that you won’t find anywhere else in South Florida.

Visitors are also invited to indulge in Pan-Asian cuisine from Morikami’s Cornell Café (not included in admission price), shop in the Museum Store and enjoy roaring taiko drum performances by Fushu Daiko at 6:30PM, 7:15PM and 8:00PM (additional $3, limited tickets available).

Attention Lexus owners!  As an elite Lexus perk, show us your Lexus key fob and you will receive (2) free entries to Sushi & Stroll all summer long!

Note: the museum will close from 5:00-5:30pm to prepare for the event and the exhibition galleries are closed on these evenings.

Food and drinks are not included in the admission price.

Tickets are not refundable, but can be transferred to a new guest.



Tickets will be available at the door:

  • $8/adults (ages 11+)
  • $6/children (ages 4-10)
  • FREE for museum members and children 3 and under

Tickets purchased in advance are $7 for adults and $5 for children.

Taiko tickets are $3/each and are only sold at the event, not available for purchase in advance.  Fushu Daiko will perform at 6:30pm, 7:15pm & 8:00pm & tickets for all performances will be sold on a first come, first served basis starting at 5:30pm.

  • Members do NOT need to purchase tickets for themselves, or those covered by their membership. Please contact our membership office at 561-233-1315 or 561-233-1314 if you have any questions about your benefits.
  • Sushi & Stroll is a rain or shine event and tickets are non-refundable.
  • Advance ticket sales will close at 5pm the Thursday before each event and will reopen the following Monday.

Our Sake Station offers a variety of premium Japanese sake, many of which are exclusive to the event, though some may be available at select retailers in South Florida.  

Please note: Sake is not included with admission and range in price from $5–$12 depending on your selection.

Stroll

Take in the sights and sounds of Roji-en at sunset – a rare treat! Sushi & Stroll is from 5:30 – 8:30pm and you won’t find a better view than Morikami Lake on a clear summer night.

Try our mobile guided tour for a more in-depth experience of the gardens, or take a leisurely stroll along the one-mile path with a cool drink in hand.

Morikami is thrilled to welcome back South Florida’s original taiko drumming group, Fushu Daiko for three performances (6:30, 7:15 and 8:00pm). In building on the ancient art of Japanese drumming, Fushu Daiko aims to “create an exciting, powerful cross-cultural experience…to cross boundaries and connect cultures.”

Please note: Taiko tickets are not included in the admission price, and are sold for an additional $3. A limited amount of Taiko tickets will be sold onsite on a first-come first served basis.
