This hands-on dynamic workshop teaches participants how to understand the sounds and movements of Japanese taiko drumming. In addition to an overview of the history and culture of taiko, participants learn how to understand sounds and movements and how to connect nature and the meaning of body movement. They will not only learn how to drum but also become familiar with the way of taiko.
Top performers from South Florida’s Fushu Daiko will conduct the workshop. The group is recognized by Seiichi Tanaka, the master of San Francisco Taiko Dojo, who brought taiko to the United States and trained senior members of the Fushu Daiko group.
