It’s hard to imagine there was once a Morikami that was small, quaint and quiet. But in 1977, in a small Japanese-style building still on our property today, we opened our doors to visitors that knew little about Florida’s historical ties to Japan. Now, 40 years later, our Museum collection has grown to over 8,000 objects and we share our mission of providing authentic Japanese cultural experiences that educate and inspire with over 200,000 guests every year.
Come celebrate the Morikami’s 40th birthday on Sunday, June 25th with music, food and activities all day. Make memories by creating your own 40th Anniversary button and sharing your favorite Morikami moments in our time capsule, and stop in for the Koto performance in the theater at 3 p.m.
