Education is fundamental to our mission. Learning is an aspect of every program, event, and exhibit you’ll encounter here as you and your family experience authentic elements of Japanese culture.
We also offer a variety of educational programs, teaching everything from language to painting, calligraphy, gardening, cuisine, and even taiko drumming and Sado, the traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony.
We feature several annual events that reflect Japanese cultural celebrations, such as Oshogatsu (New Year), Hatsume (celebrating the first bud of spring), and Lantern Festival, a commemoration of ancestors in the spirit of the Japanese Obon tradition. These popular events allow visitors to connect personally with Japanese culture.
